Inclusive Risk Reduction

Dominic Wolsey joined the GICHD in March 2019. He works on gender and diversity mainstreaming through capacity development, technical assistance, research and international and national policy work. Whilst the activities under this brief are broad, this work all contributes towards GICHD’s objective that risks from explosive hazards should be reduced in a gender and diversity sensitive and responsive manner. As Advisor on Gender and Diversity in the Inclusive Risk Reduction division, Dominic is focused on ensuring the mine action sector benefits everyone affected by explosive hazards and that the GICHD’s work contributes to the broader goals of gender equality and inclusion.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Dominic Wolsey worked for the Gender and Mine Action Programme (GMAP) association covering projects in a range of mine affected countries including Tajikistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Myanmar, Iraq, Lebanon, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. He also worked as a Researcher focused on gender equality at the British Council and as a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the International Growth Centre, a development-focus research institute based at the London School of Economics. He also worked for The HALO Trust in Somalia, ACTED in Thailand, and Save the Children in London.

Dominic Wolsey holds an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in History from University College London.
