Abdul Hamid Ibrahimi

Inclusive Risk Reduction

Abdul Hamid Ibrahimi joined the GICHD in January 2023 and holds the position of Advisor, Explosive Ordnance Risk Education. In this role, he provides technical assistance and advice on EORE to external partners, conducts research, drafts publications and guidance on risk education, reviews documents and standards (including IMAS, TNMAs and NMAS) and represents the EORE programme on inter-divisional or project/country-based working groups.

Prior to joining GICHD, he was Head of Explosive Ordnance Risk Education Department for the UN - Humanitarian Mine Action Coordination Centre for Afghanistan. Hamid has more than eighteen years of professional experience in working for humanitarian mine action, emergency response and education sectors. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Kardan University, Afghanistan and he’s an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor.
