Andrew Kesterton

Information management

Andrew Kesterton joined the GICHD in June 2018 as the Information Management Technical Development Coordinator. He is responsible for coordinating the information management (IM) division’s technical development activities. This include providing IM and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions to the GICHD and external partners using the IMSMA Core framework. In addition he coordinates the GIS for Peace project.

Prior to joining GICHD, Andrew Kesterton worked in GIS Development, developing GIS software using and managing the provision of GIS within local government and other public bodies in Scotland. Additionally as a volunteer with the NGO MapAction since 2014 he has gained experience in the humanitarian sector providing IM/GIS support in sudden onset disasters, and working to build GIS capacity in the humanitarian community.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at the University of Edinburgh.
