Lubna Abdelhady Allam

External relations, policy & cooperation programme

Lubna Allam joined GICHD in October 2021. In her role as Programme Officer in the Cooperation Programmes (CP), she provides support in project cycle management, and financial monitoring. She liaises with partners and programmes in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, notably she prepares and contributes to the design and implementation of the Arab Regional Cooperation Programmes events and Cooperation Programmes overall. She also assists in overseeing the translation of Mine Action material from English to Arabic and vice versa and checks and validates the quality of translated documents.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Lubna Allam worked with the Small Arms Survey as a project officer for the EU-LAS Combatting the Illicit Trade in and Proliferation of SALW in the Member States of the League of Arab States project and for the Security Assessment in North Africa project. Prior to that, Lubna worked with several organisations as IOM and Women World Summit Foundation in Geneva, Libya Analysis in New York, and the Antiquities Coalition in Washington DC, researching conflict, gender, and security in the MENA region.

Lubna Allam holds a Master of International Relations and Political Science specializing in security and gender from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. She did her Bachelors in Political Science and Public Administration at Cairo University, and she spent one year at American University in DC studying Arab World Studies.
