The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD) is a legal agreement that requires countries to pursue by all appropriate means a policy aimed at eliminating all forms of racial discrimination and promoting understanding among all races, refrain from any act of racial discrimination and criminalise and penalise any such act.
