We can't stand still or maintain the status quo when it comes to reducing the risks from landmines and other explosive ordnance. Innovation is fundamental when it comes to discovering and implementing new approaches for tackling the persistent and evolving challenges of keeping communities safe. Innovation is just as much about methodologies as it is about technologies–it's about embracing failure, learning, and evolving–solving the needs-based problems of the sector efficiently and effectively.

We provide a collaborative space that fosters evidence-based problem-solving and inclusive partnerships to enable innovation within the fields of mine action and ammunition management, introducing the Innovation Hub, where:

  • Diverse stakeholders are brought together
  • Discovery, study, and assessment of new methods and technologies is facilitated
  • Partnerships are fostered, dialogue is encouraged, and cooperation is promoted.

No other meeting of the minds is so intensely urgent, and no other organisation has done a better job bringing together practitioners, academic, industry, government and NGO partners focused on humanitarian mine action. Thank you for another great meeting, GICHD, I am returning with more optimism and determination to continue our humanitarian geophysics research and development work.
