TNO-FEL`s mission is to be a corporate laboratory for the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, a strategic partner for other task-oriented organisations and a technological partner for commercial organisations. To see without being seen: the two groups involved in electro-optics (electro-optical systems and electro-optical propagation and signature management) support both government and industrial customers in applying electro optical, infrared and laser equipment. This support results, among others, in joint product development, developing and demonstrating new sensor concepts, demonstrating the capabilities of state of the art equipment in laboratory or field environments, developing algorithms for added sensor capabilities, system modelling, product evaluation, consultancy and technology watch / policy and procurement support studies. Field trials are conducted to use experimental equipment in operational conditions and to support model validation.
