This report analyses disaggregated anti-vehicle mine (AVM) incident data collected in 2015. In a joint effort, the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) recorded 178 incidents related, or suspected to be related, to AVMs in 25 states and territories. These incidents caused 598 casualties (278 dead and 320 injured) of which 60 per cent were civilians. While AVM casualties were recorded in some post-conflict situations, the vast majority occurred in current conflicts.

This report follows up on a comprehensive study on the humanitarian and developmental impact of AVMs carried out by both organisations in 2014. AVM incident data are also available on an interactive online map.
