This publication is the result of a consultation process with partners both in Geneva and in mine-affected countries. It covers the drafting of sound protection policies, communication with staff and beneficiaries, holding partners accountable, the creation of reporting mechanisms, the main principles of investigation, prevention measures and finally monitoring.

The GICHD is happy to take the opportunity provided by the Global Review Conference in Oslo to make the topics of safeguarding and protection more visible. We encourage partners to increase coordination and capacity on PSEA. We would also like to thank Canada who made the publication of this guidance possible thanks to their financial support and leadership on the topic.
