GICHD participated in the 15th International Symposium ‘Mine Action 2018’ that took place from 9 to 12 April 2019 in Slano, Croatia.
The Symposium covered a variety of topics, from progress and challenges under the Ottawa convention to new technologies in mine action. GICHD was awarded a plaque of appreciation "15 years together" for its significant contribution to making this event a success throughout the years and to the Croatian mine action system as a whole.
Around 31 countries and commercial representatives gathered for the event, including the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.
The Symposium is an annual event and this year's edition was organised by The Government Office for Mine Action, Croatian Mine Action Centre and the Croatian Mine Action Centre - Centre for Testing, Development and Training.
