The GICHD is currently conducting a workshop for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMMU). The goal of the workshop is to determine the Information Management System (IMS) needs of the SMMU so they can create high-quality reports and manage information on minefields and other explosive hazards in the conflict zone in Eastern Ukraine. The information is collected by the monitors during their patrol duties.

It is very important that the information on mines and ERW be well managed so that it can be used for effective and efficient land release as soon as the situation allows.

The workshop is generously supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, Humanitarian Assistance and Humanitarian Demining Division.
