From cutting-edge analysis, to intelligence briefings and debates, decision-makers come together at the International Security Forum (ISF) to discuss the most pressing security topics of our time. Held at the Maison de la paix in Geneva, Switzerland, from 13-15 June 2016, the biennial ISF brings together some 350 dignitaries from around the world who make and shape international security affairs. A total of 87 eminent speakers are taking part in the 20 panels of the conference.
For 22 years, the ISF conferences have provided diplomats, ministers, government officials, military and private sector personnel a platform to shape discourse on traditional challenges such as nuclear disarmament and regional conflicts, and emerging issues such as asymmetrical warfare and climate change. The theme of the 2016 ISF edition is "Global Disorder – Security in a World Disrupted".
The GICHD is a long-standing partner of the ISF. This year it is the lead organisation for three panels: “Challenges to the Global Security Architecture: New of Wars” (in collaboration with the Centre for Security Studies (CSS) at the Federal Technical Institute Zurich), “Managing the Legacy of Conflict in Southeast Asia” (in collaboration with the CSS) and “Explosive Weapons: how to curb their proliferation?” (in collaboration with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and the Small Arms Survey).
