The GICHD is looking forward to take part in the 7th Meeting of States Parties (7MSP) of the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) taking place from 4 to 6 September 2017. In this context, we will hold a side event on Management of Residual ERW (MORE) where the documentary “A Shared Experience: Striving for Safety” will be screened.

Filmed in Europe and Vietnam, the documentary was produced by the GICHD in partnership with Vietnamese Defence TV and aired on national TV in Vietnam in April 2017 on the occasion of the International Day of Mine Awareness.

The documentary aims at improving understanding of residual risk management from the perspective of Vietnam. It compares the issues Vietnam is currently facing to the situation in European countries, including how residual contamination dating from World War I and World War II is managed.
