From 16-27 August 2021, The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) conducted a Global Non-Technical Survey Course at the Training Centre of the Swiss Armed Forces for foreign missions (SWISSINT) located in Stans, Canton of Nidwalden in Switzerland.
19 participants were in attendance from the Mine Action organisations, and the National Mine Action Authorities. Out of the 19 participants, 7 females attended the training.
The course entails both theoretical and practical elements, with a focus on evidence–based approaches to NTS in various contexts and environments. This includes surveys for landmines, cluster munitions, and other explosive remnants of war.
