Today in Geneva, the intersessional meeting for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention closed after two days of robust discussion.
GICHD Director, Ambassador Stefano Toscano, gave opening remarks at the meeting, stressing the importance of sustained political commitment to mine action from affected countries and financial contributions from donor countries; continued international cooperation; and, the important role of the APMBC Implementation Support Unit.
The GICHD provided support to the ISU-APMBC in the preparation and running of the meeting.
The President of the Fourteenth Meeting of the States Parties (14MSP), Ambassador Bertrand de Crombrugghe of Belgium, proposed 29 November - 2 December 2016 as the dates for the Fifteenth Meeting of the States Parties.
