A series of GICHD case studies on national capacities and residual contamination will be published in 2014 and 2015. They are based on both desk-top research and findings from GICHD missions. These case studies were initiated as part of a project in response to a request from several mine-affected countries. The project was launched in late 2013 and it conducts case studies; provides recommendations; and offers targeted, country-specific guidance.
The Liberia case study is the second of several case studies. It documents Liberia’s experience of developing national clearance capacities to address residual contamination, and it identifies and presents good practices and lessons learnt.
