The GICHD recently welcomed local students from the Cycle d'Orientation Sécheron (a middle school, for students aged 12-15), which is located near the Maison de la paix.

After having attended the public events we hosted on April 4, the International Day for Mine Action and Assistance in Mine Action, these students were inspired to help the Centre and the mine action sector. And so, earlier this month they held a bake sale at their school, raising 470 Swiss Francs from the event. With money and poster in hand, they came to the GICHD on Friday, 10 June to meet GICHD Director Ambassador Toscano and to make the official donation.

They chose to contribute these funds to help support our work in Colombia.
