Today the GICHD welcomed the OSCE Panel of Eminent Persons on European Security as a Common Project. Barbara Haering, President of the GICHD’s Council of Foundation and Panel member, addressed her fellow panelists, recalling that mine action is connected to greater questions of security and development and contributes to peace efforts overall. Also in attendance at the event was Mr Didier Burkhalter, Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Chair of the OSCE.
