On 21 September 2015, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (PCU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF). This MoU consolidates their partnership that supports the development of Ukraine's civilian institutional capacities in terms of humanitarian mine action management and coordination.

This initiative follows from a conference in Geneva on Ukraine's Current Security, Humanitarian Demining and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) Challenges organised by the PCU and the two Geneva Centres in April 2015. The MoU confirms the partners' joint commitment to support Ukraine's efforts in addressing the need to protect civilians against mines and other explosive remnants of war.
