Following the official launch of the live map on anti-vehicle mine (AVM) incidents in August 2015, the GICHD and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) have continued to monitor AVM incidents. For the first nine months of 2015, 137 incidents related or suspected to be related to AVM in 24 countries and territories were recorded, resulting in 491 casualties (232 people killed and 259 injured). While part of the increase in preliminary casualty figures is due to more comprehensive data collection rather than an actual increase in casualties, collected data also suggest that ongoing or protracted conflicts led to a higher level of incidents and new casualties. Of the 137 recorded incidents from January-September 2015, more than half involved civilian casualties (74 incidents), followed by those affecting national security personnel such as national military, police or border guards (32 incidents). Peacekeepers accounted for 7% (9 incidents) and international security forces for 4% of reported incidents (4 in total).

All preliminary analysis and recorded incidents with their location are available on the live map. This map will be updated with new data in January 2016.
