
Ammunition management advisory team
Nadim Amer joined the GICHD’s Ammunition Management Advisory Team (AMAT) as Programme Officer in February 2019. As Advisor since January 2025, he supports and advises the Head of AMAT and Programme Manager in outreach, capacity development, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation. He also co-leads the implementation of AMAT’s European Union project to develop the Arms and Ammunition Validation System (AAMVS).
Before joining the GICHD, Nadim built extensive experience in project management, security sector reform, and mediation during his time with Geneva Call and the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). His work focused on the Middle East and North Africa, providing him with in-depth regional knowledge and practical expertise.
Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, Nadim also serves as a First Lieutenant in the Swiss Armed Forces, operating as language and communication specialist as well as ammunition life-cycle management expert. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master’s degree in Public Management and Policy, with a specialisation in Public Finance and Economics, from the University of Lausanne. His studies included a focus on military procurement, an area he continues to work on and remains deeply interested in.
