Susanne Rihs Aeby joined the Administration & Support Section on 1st September 2008 as a Conference Manager. She is responsible for organising and managing conferences, meetings and other events related with the activities of the GICHD. This includes set up of infrastructure and facilities such as reservation and installation of meeting rooms, technical support (help desk, internet area, registration of participants, security), catering, transportation and organisation of side events. She is as well in charge of organising arrangements on accommodation and travel for the participants including hotel bookings, air tickets, visas and assistance to delegates and manages the sponsorship program on behalf of the group of donors. 

Prior to her work at GICHD, Susanne Rihs Aeby was part of the organisation team for the preparation of the statutory meetings of the Red Cross movement, including international conferences. She gained a wide experience in the humanitarian sector both at field and headquarter level, first as a secretary, later as a logistician and finally as a Conference Administrator. After her certificate at the IUED (Graduate Institute of Development Studies) in Geneva, she worked for Handicap International Switzerland.
