Our mentorship program empowers future trainers, while we offer dedicated support for the development of custom national training packages.


Aim

To further enhance the national capacity, GICHD offers training of trainers classes along with the generic NTS courses. 


What you will learn?

The NTS Training of Trainer Practitioner Programme includes the following elements:

  • Completion of the NTS course.
  • Completion of the NTS Training of Trainers Fundamentals course.
  • Co-design practical exercises and provide input for the improvement of the NTS national training package.
  • Co-delivery of the NTS course, following the mentorship of the GICHD instructors.

After a completion of all Programme components, the participants will be able to deliver NTS training to the national stakeholders, in particular:

  • Explain up-to-date NTS methodologies, techniques and technologies applicable in the local context.
  • Apply adult learning methodologies, techniques and technologies in the classroom and field environment.
  • Facilitate the NTS course to the local stakeholders based on the national training package.
  • Assess the performance of the participants of their future courses.

Who should attend?

This Programme is aimed at field–personnel, NTS team leaders and instructors deployed.

General requirements

  • Relevant experience and expertise in the NTS.
  • Prior attendance in GICHD Non-Technical Survey course.

Mandatory e-learning courses to complete

Selected participants are required to complete the following GICHD e-learning courses:


Language level requirements

Participants should be able communicate and present in the language of delivery. The following standards of proficiency in the language should be met (as described in STANAG 6001).

  • Listening: good | 3
  • Speaking: good | 3
  • Reading: good | 3
  • Writing: good | 3

Teaching approach

  • Interactive classroom sessions.
  • Practical exercises, role-play scenarios, and case studies.
  • Mentorship and guided delivery during initial training courses.

Assessment

  • Written test.
  • Observation of training delivery during training sessions.
  • Assessment of the quality of lesson planning and design of exercises
