The goal of the research at the UCL microwave laboratory is to combine a radar and a radiometer, aiming at crossing the information delivered by each sensor, in order to improve the detection of a buried mine and reduce the false alarms given by objects different than the mines. How to combine efficiently information provided by these two sensors is still an open question : at which frequencies, which polarization ? Theory and measurements are needed to answer those questions.
