Ziaee Abdul Qudos joined the GICHD in March 2020 as an Operational Efficiency Advisor. His work is primarily to provide technical advice to national authorities, United Nations, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders on non-technical and technical survey, clearance methodologies, technology, and the best practices in order to increase their operational efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, he carries out mine action evaluations and research, develops and delivers training courses, and provides broader mine action expertise.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Abdul Qudos Ziaee worked for nineteen years on mine action programmes with UNMAS/UNOPS in Afghanistan and most recently he held the position of Head of operations with the Directorate of Mine Action Coordination(DMAC) in Afghanistan. Abdul Qudos Ziaee holds a master’s degree in business administration as well as an IMAS EOD Level 3 qualification.
