Aim
The ARCP IM workshop will bring together representatives from national mine action authorities and partner organizations in the Middle East and North Africa region. It will provide an opportunity for participants to strengthen their capacity in information management, exchange experiences, and discuss best practices.
The ARCP Information Management Workshop is funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Germany and Finland.
What you will learn?
The ARCP IM Workshop aims to explore the connections between information management, urban clearance, operational reporting, and reporting for international conventions. The regional workshop objectives are as follows:
- Demonstrate GIS and IMSMA Core applications in planning, executing, and monitoring clearance operations.
- Enhance understanding of how information management supports urban clearance.
- Explore real-time data visualization, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms for field operations.
- Understand how operational reporting aligns with international conventions (e.g., Mine Ban Treaty, Convention on Cluster Munitions, SDGs).
- Identify best practices and lessons learned from past urban clearance data collection efforts.
Who should attend?
The workshop is designed for information management supervisors and officers, heads of departments, and directors from national mine action authorities and mine action organizations. Participants must be endorsed by their organization, and a support letter from the programme director or manager must be attached to the application.
Where possible, national authorities and organizations are encouraged to nominate a maximum of two participants per delegation.
